DMMd Playthrough

Waaay back in like 2012-2013 or so, I played Drammatical Murder for the first time. I didn't know what I was getting myself into and boy was I surprised. If you don't know, DMMd is a Japanese BL (Boys Love) visual novel, and it is... so many levels of twisted. Most noteably, this game does have sex, but it also has a pretty dark, intense storyline. It's peppered with sexual assault and violence and things of that nature so uhhh... be warned.
My current computer can't play games and my last computer absolutely refused to actually play DMMd no matter how much troubleshooting I did, but I've really wanted to revisit the game! I stumbled upon
dmmdplaythroughs and have been able to watch the game that way! It's definitely been interesting, especially comparing my long held memories of the game to the actual events haha
Anyway, I'm midway through now, and I thought I'd detail my thoughts as I play. Beware of spoilers below the cut!
The Common Route!
This is how the game starts and accounts for about 50% of each playthrough. It's the same no matter who you want to romance, and your choices here determine who you end up with in the end. The weirdest thing about this honestly is that I remember a lot of the key events, but not what order they happened in. I spent a lot of time just going "is this where x happens????" (I was usually wrong lmao)
There was a loooot of stuff I forgot, too. I remembered that Mizuki was taken by Morphine, but I didn't remember that Tae-san was kidnapped (even though that's the real catalyst!). I'd completely erased Mink's introduction from my memories (for good reason lol...) and for some reason I thought the first time Aoba met Noiz after the Rhyme game was when he kissed him in the shop.
It's suuper super weird though how they decided to name the two major games in DMMd with R names (Rhyme and Ribsteez). Funnily enough, even though more of the main characters play Rib than Rhyme, I kept forgetting the name of it! Literally... midway through watching the playthrough I'd already forgotten dfghjkl Also, I did not realize this, but like... Rib seems to be just... streets fights and gangs but they call it a game???? Aoba all your friends are in actual gangs.
Mizuki isn't as endearing as I remember him being, which is sad because I really liked Mizuki :( I think my impression of him just got rly warped over the years between my own thoughts and the handful of fics I read. He's not bad, he just... wasn't exactly who I thought he was.
Final thoughts: I still lov Noiz as much as always. And, I knew this before, but replayng Dmmd has only reinforced my conclusion that Aoba Seragaki doesn't have a single brain cell to his name. Not one.
A couple of screenshots from moments I enjoyed:

^This is from when Aoba used his Twink Voice to summon an eavesdropping Noiz... which is honestly such a funny scene sdfghjkl
