Challenge #4
In your own space, create some goals.
Hmm I actually have quite a few going at the moment!
- Ring Fit Adventure January Kickstart - basically, I'm following an exercise schedule for the month using the switch game, RFA. I'm actually a few days behind, but I'm hoping to stick to it! Exercise isn't exactly my forte, but I'm also not entire opposed to it? So there's that.
- 30 Day Doodle Challenge - So there's this artist/bookbinding youtuber, Sea Lemon, who has like these doodle challenges! They were actually posted several years ago, but I haven't really been drawing lately and wanna get back into it. The fact that it's a "doodle" challenge has made it easier for me to participate even on days when I don't have a lot of mental energy. Like oh, today's prompt is dots? Fuck it, I'm just drawing polka dots. Boom! Day 5 DONE!
- Every year I say to myself "I'm going to get back into learning Japanese" ...
For some smaller, not yet in progress goals, I'd definitely like to read more. I know I have so many books on my shelf I won't even like... just taking up space and weighing on my mental "to do" list... but I've gotta actually crack them open and read a bit before I know which ones they are. I need to beat Link's Awakening so I can send it back to the friend who lent it to me, and finish the remaining routes in Fire Emblem Three Houses (while trying not to just play Blue Lions again.........).
I'd like to take better care of myself and spent less money on food at work (I work at a bookstore cafe for gods sake! If I'm spending that much money I should at least have more unread books on my shelf smh). They really get you with that 40% off, tricking you into thinking a daily $3 latte is any better than a $5 latte like... no you're still just buying an unnecessary and expensive drink... worse when you buy more than one throughout your shift aaaa
I think a fandom goal for me would be to participate in a fandom fest this year maybe??

Date: Jan. 7th, 2021 01:52 pm (UTC)I tried learning Japanese once and it was hard, but the teacher was cute. (Shallow, I know.)
Good luck with Ring Fit Adventure! You can do it!

Date: Jan. 8th, 2021 10:23 pm (UTC)Oh do you have a link to the doodle challenge? Learning to doodle is one of my low-key goals this year.
I worked at a cafe in a bookstore once upon a time, so I know the feeling of spending all of my money there! Though I don't work there anymore, lockdown certainly helped lessen my reliance on expensive lattes.

Date: Jan. 8th, 2021 11:02 pm (UTC)Oh man, when the stay at home order went into effect and I was furloughed, I saved so much money! It was a bit of a wake-up call seeing how much money I was spending unnecessarily... although despite my best efforts, I still got an almond milk, toffee nut latte as soon as I got to work this morning lol I'm trying to bring my own lunches, though. I don't particularly need a $7 sandwich every day smh

Date: Jan. 10th, 2021 02:14 am (UTC)Yeah, buying at lunch at work, let alone a coffee was always a killer. But I'd be too tired after work to try and prep for my next shift. It can be a vicious cycle.

Date: Jan. 10th, 2021 05:02 am (UTC)I've been making dinner lately, so I just get ingredients for 3-4 servings instead of 2 and take the leftovers to work. Of course, this doesn't work as well on days I don't feel like making dinner, but buying lunch sometimes is better than every time.
