DMMd Playthrough part 5! (We're in the final stretch y'all!) I'm pretty excited for a few reasons:

1. Clear is a really likable character! He's super cute in personality and really quirky and fun. After the nightmare that was Mink's route, Clear will be much more enjoyable.
2. Main plot!!!!!! Clear is pretty involved with the main plot, so we're gonna learn a lot more about the overarching plot than we did in other routes
3. NEXT ROUTE'S THE LAST ONE!!! And when we'll finally get to see Sei??? And learn more about why the fuck Aoba's Like That.

Anyway I'm looking forward to it^^



Initial Thoughts/Previous Memories
The first time I played DMMd, I used no guide and just followed my heart, since that's how I always like to go along my first playthrough. The problem was, my heart said: "Pick Noiz!!! Pick Noiz!!!!!" but my heart also said "be nice to Clear pls just look at him he'll cry." I ended up being too nice to Clear and wound up on his route :,c. I didn't really realize until the scene where you go downstairs and Clear's there in nothing but an apron.... "The others aren't coming back......... are they" I thought, and there went my dreams of romancing Noiz :,c

I also completely fucked up and got Clear's bad ending. So that was fun lol... Anyway, Clear is actually a cool dude, and I don't think I really appreciated him at the time bc I was so disappointed at not getting Noiz. Oh yeah, and just for funsies, a neat fact about Clear's good ending: Clear ends up in a fight?? And is all falling apart & (spoiler alert) he's a robot right? But he fuckin. Begs Aoba to fuck him? As he's dying (bc yeah he's like... straight up dying....) and fALLING APART??? It's the funniest thing omfg,,,

Playthrough Thoughts


Oooh~ The section of platinum jail in Clear's route is really pretty. Aqua-something?? Idk I already forgot, but I'm a sucker for tree lights~

Some more route differences:

• Koujaku & Clear: All the buildings look the same, giving it an old fashioned feeling. We're astonished when we see the inside. Unlike what I was expecting, it has a classical feeling to it.
  
• Noiz & Mink: The residential area seems to go down in quality and ours is at the very end. The smallest, shittiest one of them all. It looks all old-fashioned, and when we get inside, it's even worse

Clear's route is so fucking sweet oh my god

What's rly interesting is that Clear's route was suggested last because of the plot details within it, but in a lot of ways, I feel it was actually intended to be played first.

• First of all, Clear's route is super easy to get on. Literally all you have to do is be nice to him, and if you're playing for the first time, chances are you're probably trying to be nice in general (without rly thinking about/understanding focusing on a single character and deliberately not pleasing the others as you would on a later playthrough).
  
• Next, when you enter platinum jail, Aoba remarks "I wonder if there are other sections of Platinum Jail." To which Clear replies, "Probably. There are five doors." In the other routes, this isn't even mentioned, but it is something you realize as you play a new route. This seems to be a hint at that which would only make sense if it was your first playthrough and you didn't already know that
  
• Finally, when Aoba uses scrap on Clear, he initially has a flashback to his grandmother telling him about his power.

All in all, Clear's route feels very introductory in comparison to the other routes. While I can see why it'd be suggested to see last, I don't think that was the creator's intent.

Oh wow... so Clear's bad endings is definitely different from how I remember it. What I thought happened: Clear goes crazy, takes Aoba hostage, and severs his limbs to make him into a doll.

ERR wrong

What actually happened is that Aoba was captured by Toue and experimented on to figure out why Clear recognized him as his "master" and how he seemed to naturally have the power Toue, Clear, and the others like Clear had artificially. Clear was also taken by Toue and was repaired and set back to his original state before he rebelled. He ends up reunited with Aoba and is granted full control over him. He's still obsessed with Aoba, and since he cannot become human, he decides to turn Aoba into something like him. He also makes Aoba more dependent on him by taking away things that grant him any free will (His legs, his eyes, and finally his arms are up next), claiming he'll become more beautiful that way.

Final verdict: Ok so Clear's route??? Is a fuckin work of art and it is so sad that I was too busy thirsting after Noiz my first playthrough to rly appreciate it. (Don't get my wrong, I still love Noiz even if his route isn't That Good. Just bc he isn't right for Aoba doesn't mean he's not the Best overall just sayin). Nah tho omg the artwork in Clear's route??? The mUSIC???? The writing.... it's all,,,, so good,,,,, 10/10
